Let Me Be Frank....

If you have selected this page, then either you or someone you love is fighting for their life.  Make no mistake about it.  The disease of addiction is just that:  a Disease.  It is nothing to be ashamed of.  It has nothing to do with willpower.  It has everything to do with genetics.  Somewhere along the line, a bit got flipped in the wrong direction and you (or your loved one) was born with the predisposition towards addiction.   Notice I said predisposition.  Not everyone with a genetic tendency towards addiction will go full blown in that direction.  All the planets have to be aligned in the right direction (or, maybe I should say the "wrong" direction").  Wrong upbringing, wrong job, wrong friends, wrong marriage, woeful offspring, wrong stresses, wrong diet, injuries, illnesses, yada, yada, yada.  All this garbage together is enough to drive almost anyone to the bottle, or the needle, or pill, or pipe, or casino, or refrigerator.  The only shame involved in this whole situation is the shame of recognizing the problem and not doing anything about it.

So, just what do we do about addiction?  In the past, addiction was always handled with talk therapy.  This is akin to going into a major battle armed only with a single shot rifle.  Now, don't get me wrong.  I think talk therapy is very good.  But, for addiction treatment, it is a dismal failure.  Why?  Because it does not deal with the physical side of addiction which is a brain starved for neurotransmitters  (brain chemicals that make you feel good).

     What do I recommend?
  • Torque Release Technique Chiropractic - this gentle method of chiropractic was shown (by clinical trial and by PET scan) to improve brain functioning and relieve the desire for medications.
  • Auriculotherapy - Ear acupuncture with microcurrent, not needles.  This treatment method communicates with the brain directly via cranial nerve stimulation to improve brain processing and message handling.
  • Amino Acid Replenishment - These supplements provide needed brain food.  Sometimes they are missing from birth.  Sometimes addicted people just need a lot more than other people.
  • Nutrition Protocols - There is a lot of misinformation about diet and nutrition in the media.  We try to straighten out these misconceptions and present a truly balanced program.
  • Exercise - Light exercise like walking, hiking, Tai Chi, and Yoga are a big help.  I believe it was Thoreau who said no really good ideas ever come from sitting on your butt (or something to that effect).
  • Talk Therapy - Yes, it really is good for you.  At first it may be hard to sit in the chair and listen.  But, eventually, the words will seep in and you will "see" what is happening to you.
There is the arsenal you need to do battle with addiction.  Are you ready?  Call today.  You can't afford to wait.  I'll give you a no hassle, no pressure consult for free.  Just get into the office.  Please.
